Humans are pretty darn smart.
Of all God’s creatures on planet earth, we’re the ones with the big brains.
And we know it!
Darwin gave us way too much credit when he came up with his theory of evolution. Setting aside the mere development of physical bodies, evolution convinced us that mentally and intellectually we were getting better and smarter and more advanced with each passing century.
And we fell for it.
And why not? All the evidence is right in front of our eyes ...
Aren’t we the same group who once spent our days chasing down dinner with rocks and sticks? And after a well-earned dinner, we spent a nice relaxing evening entertaining ourselves by telling the tale and drawing out the daily chase scene on the walls of our cave by firelight.
Today, thousands of years later, “chasing down dinner” just means we called somebody to go get it and bring it to us.
Our current abodes are far superior to caves … lots and lots of smooth, drawable walls … but who’s going to bother with that? Hang a big screen TV on that wall!
‘Cause somebody, somewhere has drawn-filmed-recorded-animated-and broadcast fabulous moving/talking images that are way better than what we could do with markers and paint on a wall. All we have to do is turn on that TV-computer-phone-iPad to get instant entertainment to enjoy while eating the dinner that just showed up at our front door.
Add to that the fact that far, far away, there are robots, satellites, machines and cameras that are traveling and exploring other planets and sending back photos of our solar system and universe.
Looks like forward advancement to me!
But is there any evidence of backward movement?
Hmmm …
