I can hardly believe it’s November. The contemplative time of year. Holidays are coming. Another year is about over and soon we’ll be making plans for the next one. Time to take stock ...
So how did you do this year? Did you accomplish all your goals? Are you still struggling with some project that just doesn’t want to come together? Have you grown in important areas, like your work or your personal life?
This has been a life-changing year for me, because of the website.
At this same time last year while I was waiting for the site to be built, I was staying up late many nights trying to hurry and get copy and a minimum of 4 or 5 articles written before the launch. Didn’t want the brand new site to look too new and too empty. I especially didn’t want pages with the dreaded “This Page is Under Construction – Check Back Soon!” message. Not a good way to start off!
Now it’s a year later. And, as of October 31st, 19 articles, 27 blogs, and 7 Homepage changes later. And lots more either on the drawing board or in the planning stages. And 3 more books waiting to be added to The Books section soon ... the publishing process can be slow sometimes. But the site is not empty any more!
The running joke with friends is still, “Sherry got 20 hits on her website last week ... and 19 of those were Sherry!”
Ha, Ha. Very funny, guys!
But I don’t mind ... I think it’s funny, too! I don’t worry. Not anymore.
Because I know Who’s idea the whole thing was. And He’s got a plan.
When the occasional bad day comes along, and I’d frankly prefer to just shut the whole thing down, forget it all and crawl back into my dark, comfortable hiding spot – and I could do that so very easily – I stop and look at this grand beginning. And the curiosity of where it’s all heading is finally greater than the effort it takes to keep pushing forward. If He’s done nothing more than drag me out of dark places, it’s been well worth it! I know more is coming ... I’ll just have to take it day by day to see the plan unfold. It will happen.
So 2019 is about over. And I’m starting to make plans for 2020 ... how about you?
In this month of thanksgiving and reflection, while I contemplate my continuing grand adventure ... I’d invite you, too, to contemplate your adventure. Let's think about where we've been and where we're headed ...
