October 02, 2019Websites and Pontiacs

I love my website! My dancing website ... with wiggly book titles, flying headers, a video, links to movies, and as much energy and color and fun as I can possibly stuff into it! Wow! Thank you, 11 Fingers Design!

This month is the first year anniversary of this wonderful gift God gave me. You can read how it came to be in A Lonely Artist Gets Undone in the Freebies section. Getting a website was the farthest thing from my mind. In fact, if you had mentioned it to me, I would have dismissed it entirely. Didn’t think my artistic skills were quite yet up to a level that would justify the expense and work a website would require. I still don’t. Maybe someday, but certainly not now.

God apparently had different thoughts.

And this wonderful gift that I wasn’t expecting and certainly didn’t ask for, has already had many profound and positive effects on me and my life on all kinds of levels and facets that I will probably never fully understand or sort out this side of heaven.

I’m not the center of the universe. He loves me. He wants my best. He will give me whatever I need in my life to fulfill the plan He’s laid out for me. But He thinks bigger than that.

Somehow, sometime, somewhere, someone will get helped or encouraged or blessed in some way by this site. Maybe they’ll find out how to communicate with a publisher a bit better. Or understand what a printer is asking them for. Maybe they have an burning intensity inside that’s driving them nuts, and they’ll discover that it’s just their pony! Perhaps they’ll find that one little push of encouragement that will help them get that story written, finish that drawing, or put that manuscript in the mail. Perhaps they’ll just read some of my zany articles and blogs and feel relieved that, yeah, there’s someone else on the planet that’s crazier than them ... I don’t know!

But there’s one fact I do know:

When God blesses you in some way, big or small, that blessing will overflow onto people around you. Like the ripple effect on the surface of a pond. And who knows how far out it will go or who it will reach? Sometimes you will find out how those blessings are affecting others. Sometimes you won’t. But it’s not important that you know. It’s God’s work and His business. Maybe He’ll let you in on the happenings. Maybe He won’t. I just know that while I’m indulging myself drawing and writing, that somehow is serving a bigger purpose and benefiting the world at large in some way ... benefiting some person in some way, big or small.

It is a fact that this will happen. How do I know this?

Because it’s happened before.

Last time this happened, it wasn’t a website ... it was a red Pontiac.

A Pontiac that enabled a very special and wonderful 15 year relationship that transformed my life.

Unlike the website, I actually asked for the Pontiac. Well ... I sorta’ asked for it. At the time, I didn’t know I was asking for it!

So this month, I want to tell you about that Pontiac and a very special lady ...
